1. What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains how Kairos Alpha GmbH uses cookies and comparable client-side storage technologies (e.g., localStorage, sessionStorage) on the Service. It supplements the Privacy Policy.
The legal basis for the use of cookies and similar technologies is §25 of the German Telecommunications-Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG) implementing Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC, in conjunction with the GDPR.
2. Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required)
The following cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of the Service requested by the User and are exempt from the consent requirement under §25 (2) Nr. 2 TDDDG:
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Maintains an authenticated session after sign-in | Session | Kairos Alpha GmbH (first-party) |
| CSRF token | Protects forms against cross-site request forgery | Session | Kairos Alpha GmbH (first-party) |
3. Preference cookies
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Locale cookie | Remembers the language selected by the User | Up to 12 months | Strictly necessary (“unbedingt erforderlich”): the locale/language-preference cookie is required to provide the service the User explicitly requested and therefore needs no consent under §25(2) Nr. 2 TDDDG. |
4. Analytics and marketing cookies
No analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies are active on the Service at this time. Any analytics or marketing technology that stores information on or accesses information already stored on the User’s device (for example cookies, local storage, or device fingerprinting) will be loaded only after freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent has been obtained through a consent banner that meets the requirements of Art. 7 GDPR and §25(1) TDDDG, and such consent may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.
Kairos Alpha GmbH may, however, measure use of the Service by first-party, cookieless means that neither store information on nor actively access information already stored on the User’s device — for example, anonymised, aggregated analysis of the request data that the User’s browser necessarily transmits to deliver the page (such as a truncated IP address, referrer, and browser type), with no cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no device fingerprinting. Because nothing is stored on or read from the device, such measurement falls outside §25(1) TDDDG and is carried out on the basis of Kairos Alpha GmbH’s legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating, securing, and improving the Service, and therefore requires no consent. Should richer analytics relying on cookies or comparable device storage, or a third-party analytics processor, be introduced, the consent rule above applies and the sub-processor list in the Privacy Policy will be updated concurrently.
5. Third-party cookies
The Service does not set third-party cookies for tracking purposes. Embedded content from sub-processors (e.g., Mux video player) may load resources from third-party domains; such interactions are minimised and described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Managing cookies
Most browsers allow the User to view, manage, and delete cookies through their settings. Disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent core features of the Service from functioning. Browser documentation generally provides instructions for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
7. Changes
This Cookie Policy may be updated. The version in force at the time of use applies; material changes will be communicated by appropriate means.
